|NEW: Web Site Help|
The purpose of this NEW help page is to help you learn to navigate our web site more easily. This is a "work in progress", so thank you for your patience as we occasionally improve this help page. You may email your suggestions for this help page to firstname.lastname@example.org (see below) -- thank you!
There are buttons on the left side of most of our web pages to help you navigate to different areas. If you click one of those buttons (also called "navigators"), however, you will leave this help page. There is a better solution .... All modern web browsers support the concept of "tabs" -- i.e., displaying each web page on a different browser tab. If you wish to display this help page on one tabbed page and the page you are trying to get help for on another tabbed page, you can then easily switch back and forth between the page of interest and this help page. To view any page on a different tab, simply right-mouse-click on the link to that page and select "Open link in a new tab".
Now on to the actual help below ....
To find out information about Alateen, click the Alateen button. This page is simple enough that no further help is usually needed.
To find an Al-Anon or Alateen meeting, use these directions to find a meeting:
There are other ways (besides "zip code") to use this dialog box to find meetings, and they are not mutually exclusive with using the zip code functionality. If you choose to explore this area, please recognize that the more criteria you add, the more restrictive your search will be. If your search is too restrictive, you may end up with a "no results found", after which you will have to start your search over in order to remove those restrictions.
To look at the Calendar, click the Calendar button. This page is a little more complicated than most. To take full advantage of its capabilities, first use the checkboxes to select the types of calendar events you are interested in and then click the Redisplay button. If you are interested in a specific group's meetings or events, select a group from the "pull-down" before you click Redisplay.
To look at upcoming events (workshops, conferences, celebrations, etc.), click the Upcoming Events button. This page is simple enough that no further help is usually needed.
To search for Conference Approved Literature (CAL), click the Literature button. This page is simple enough that no further help is usually needed.
To review our monthly Dal-Anon Now newsletters, click the Newsletter button. This page is simple enough that no further help is usually needed.
If you are a professional support provider, click the To Professionals button.
In addition to the information provided on that page, specialized information is provided for different types of
professionals. Click on the button that applies to you:
Each of these leads to another page, each of which should be simple enough that no further help is usually needed.
If you wish to view Al-Anon's Preamble, click the Preamble button. This page is simple enough that no further help is usually needed.
If you are interested in volunteering your services as a speaker, office volunteer, or after-hours phone service, please click the Volunteering button. This page is simple enough that no further help is usually needed. Note, however, that the link to our form at the bottom of the page can be read in another tab if you right-click on that link and select "Open link in another tab" from the menu.
At any time, you may return to Home by clicking the Home button on the top left.
To find a list of meetings (with no selection criteria other than scrolling through the list), click the Meeting List button at the top center of the web page, and then select one from the list that results when you click this button.
